I’m not sorry if you find that repetitive or boring. Maybe I’ll choose ease every Friday from here on out, even during growing season. Maybe boring my three readers to death is how my villain era starts!!! Tonight we’re eating what I like to think of as cafe food, but like, a cafe next to a yoga studio…in Paris. Is that a thing I’ve ever actually experienced? No. It’s just the best way I can describe food that is light and vegetable-y as well as luxuriously cheesy. Truth be told, a buttered baguette would really perfect the vibe but as always! I’m not about to get off my ass to go get one.
Already this morning I chopped up romaine, cucumbers, celery, dates and walnuts and set out a jar of Smitten Kitchen french onion baked lentils to defrost. Later, the salad gets tossed with yard herbs and Trader Joe’s vegan dill dressing. And the lentils get broiled under heaps of Cheddar & Gruyere Mèlange Cheese, which is half the price of Swiss Gruyere and about 93% as tasty.
